چکیده

The problem of finding an extension of a partially defined Boolean function (pdBf) is the problem of finding a Boolean function, which correctly classifies given data. That means that in general we are given two sets of Boolean vectors truepoints and falsepoints and we want to decide if there exists an extension a Boolean function, that on all given truepoints has function value true and on all given falsepoints has function value false. In the case of positive answer we also want to find some representation of some extension. The problem of deciding if there is any extension is easy to solve, so we can require to find extension with some special properties. In typical situation, we want to find extension from a given class of Boolean functions, for example positive or Horn functions, but we may want to find the extension with the smallest set of falsepoints, or with the shortest representation. In our contribution we will show that it is NP-complete to decide whether there exists an acyclic extension for a given pdBf. We will also present a polynomial algorithm for finding a k-DNF extension (for fixed k) and prove that with respect to asymptotic time complexity it is the optimal procedure for solving this problem.

Bidual Horn Functions and Extensions

Partially defined Boolean functions (pdBf) , where are disjoint sets of true and false vectors, generalize total Boolean functions by allowing that the function values on some input vectors are unknown. The main issue with pdBfs is the extension problem, which is deciding, given a pdBf, whether it is interpolated by a function from a given class of total Boolean functions, and computing a formu...

A new approach to compute acyclic chromatic index of certain chemical structures

An acyclic edge coloring of a graph is a proper edge coloring such that there are no bichromatic cycles. The acyclic chromatic index of a graph $G$ denoted by $chi_a '(G)$ is the minimum number $k$ such that there is an acyclic edge coloring using $k$ colors. The maximum degree in $G$ denoted by $Delta(G)$, is the lower bound for $chi_a '(G)$. $P$-cuts introduced in this paper acts as a powerfu...

Study on follicular characteristics, hormonal and biochemical profile in norgestomet+PMSG treated acyclic buffaloes

This research was conducted to study the follicular dynamics, hormonal, biochemical profile and fertility response in acyclic and norgestomet+PMSG treated acyclic buffaloes in summer. The study animals were divided into two groups: group I [control (n=8): no treatment] and II [treatment group (n=15)]. In group II, seven animals were used for follicular biochemical and hormonal profile and eight...

The Auslander-Reiten Conjecture for Group Rings

This paper studies the vanishing of $Ext$ modules over group rings. Let $R$ be a commutative noetherian ring and $ga$ a group. We provide a criterion under which the vanishing of self extensions of a finitely generated $Rga$-module $M$ forces it to be projective. Using this result, it is shown that $Rga$ satisfies the Auslander-Reiten conjecture, whenever $R$ has finite global dimension and $ga...

Non-interactive Identity-Based DNF Signature Scheme and Its Extensions

An ID-based DNF signature scheme is an ID-based signature scheme with an access structure which is expressed as a disjunctive normal form (DNF) with literals of signer identities. ID-based DNF signature schemes are useful to achieve not only signer-privacy but also a multi-user access control. In this paper, we formally define a notion of a (non-interactive) ID-based DNF signature and propose t...
